40 YEARS OF LOVE

To celebrate Moschino's 40th anniversary, four friends of the House were asked to create a collection inspired by Franco Moschino's iconic designs from 1983 to 1993. See our anniversary collection hit the runway in a spectacular four-part show on September 21 at 6:00 pm CEST.

ACT ONE

Presenting a series of looks inspired by Franco Moschino’s painting ‘Still Life with Heart’. A list of wardrobe staples, initially compiled by Franco, at the beginning of his career, has been re-visited through carefully composed visual variations.

ACT TWO

‘Heart of Wool’ by Franco Moschino, featuring a beloved symbol of the House, a heart, that here is pierced by two knitting needles against a morning sky. This set of looks represents, with love and admiration, Franco’s different trademarks, adding a new sensibility through a modern day lens.

ACT THREE

The piece ‘Cloud with Handle and Padlock’ is the inspiration for this next part of the collection. The painting represents one of Franco's earliest childhood dreams; his dream of painting with the angels, floating in the sky. These looks draw from the romance and the underlying femininity in Franco's work that often goes unnoticed.

ACT FOUR

The final chapter, ‘Gone with the Wind’, takes to the runway. This set of looks within the collection focuses on the brand’s historic boldness and frequent nod to irony. The featured painting, showcases the heart, question mark and exclamation point – symbols that are quintessentially Moschino.
